Young men and women interested in after-school and summer programs and job opportunities are invited to a networking event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Twin Rivers Intermediate School on Cornell Street.

The event is being hosted by the McKeesport Area School District and G-Tech Strategies, the non-profit agency running the "ReClaim McKeesport" program.

Other participants will include Penn State Greater Allegheny, UPMC McKeesport hospital, Youth CAST, Head Start, Carnegie Library of McKeesport and the La Rosa Boys and Girls Club.

G-Tech's Ellie King says the event is open to the public and there will be activities for children, so families are encouraged to attend.

"We will have a panel discussion about the importance of engaging youth in McKeesport and strategies (for engagement), as well as have organizations discuss opportunities they have for youth, whether it be after school programs or summer opportunities," King says.

A tour of the new school also will be available.

For more information, call (412) 361-2099.
