How Topic Discussed: In 2002, Jason Togyer (Jay Thurber) interviewed Myron Cope upon the first publication of his book, "Double Yoi: A Half-Century of Sportswriting and Broadcasting." Due to technical problems with the recording, it never was broadcast on the radio. In 2025, using digital signal processing, the original cassette tape was recovered and most of the interview was saved. In this half-hour conversation, Cope discusses his early days as a sportswriter, pioneering the sports talk radio show in Pittsburgh, his wife Mildred, and gives his thoughts on the rise of pro football and televised sports.
