Pittsburgh Man Dead Following Beacon Street Shooting

A 21-year-old man died Saturday night following a shooting on Beacon Street.

Delquay Lamont James of Pittsburgh's North Side was pronounced dead at the scene at 8 p.m., said the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

In a prepared statement, Allegheny County police Lt. Kenneth Ruckel said McKeesport police and paramedics were dispatched to the 2000 block of Beacon Street at 7:53 p.m. when callers to 9-1-1 reported a man had been shot.

City Man Held in June 4 Wilkinsburg Slaying

A man wanted in connection with a June 4 homicide in Wilkinsburg was arrested Monday morning by McKeesport police.

Triq P. Price, 39, is charged by Allegheny County police with homicide, robbery, carrying a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Price is currently being held without bail in Allegheny County Jail pending a preliminary hearing July 19 before Allegheny County Judge Kim Berkeley Clark.

Penn Hills Woman Charged in Walmart Shooting

A Penn Hills woman faces a preliminary hearing July 18 in connection with a shooting Saturday inside the North Versailles Twp. Walmart.

Rojanai Germaine Alston, 22, is charged by Allegheny County police with aggravated assault and attempted homicide. Court officials said Alston is free on $25,000 bond pending the hearing before Magisterial District Judge Roxanne Eichler.

Alston is accused of shooting a 25-year-old woman inside the store's electronics department just after 9:30 p.m. The victim, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

Port Vue Man Dies After Fall From Roof

A Port Vue man who fell from the roof of a home on Laredo Street died of a heart attack.

Raymond Martini, 68, suffered a blood clot in his right coronary artery, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said Thursday following an autopsy.

Martini was taken by ambulance to UPMC McKeesport hospital just after 3 p.m. Wednesday following the fall, the medical examiner's office said. He died in the emergency room, the medical examiner's office said.

The death has been ruled an accident. Port Vue police investigated at the scene.

 

Naked Man Arrested in Gnome-Assisted Burglary

A naked man used a garden gnome to smash the window of a Downtown liquor store and had to be subdued with a Taser, McKeesport police said.

The suspect in the June 21 incident refused to give his name and was charged as a "John Doe" with burglary, indecent exposure, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and public drunkenness.

He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond pending a preliiminary hearing July 15 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi.

McKeesport police on Wednesday said the suspect has since been identified as Antonio Burton, 33, of Pittsburgh's East End.

City Man Charged With Homicide Following Police Chase

A McKeesport man is charged with criminal homicide after police said he shot and killed someone who was dating his ex-girlfriend.

Marcus Acie-Griffin, 36, was arrested Saturday morning following a police chase through McKeesport and Dravosburg that ended with a crash in the Morton Plan section of West Mifflin.

The victim, Kaine A. Williams, 34, was pronounced dead late Friday night at the scene of the incident in the 1800 block of Sumac Street, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Port Vue Woman Sentenced on Drug Charges

A Port Vue woman has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for her role in a narcotics ring that moved large amounts of heroin from New Jersey to the Mon-Yough area, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said Thursday.

Krystle Barretto, 33, also faces four years' probation under the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon in Pittsburgh. Barretto pleaded guilty to federal narcotics charges in February.

Prosecutors allege that along with her fiancee, Jarran Bell, 38, of Port Vue, Barretto was heard on wiretaps conspiring to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin.

Federal authorities allege that Barretto arranged for approximately 25,000 stamp bags of heroin to be transported from Paterson and Union, N.J., to the McKeesport area.

Construction Worker Charged in Firearms Incident

A Churchill man who was tearing down an abandoned house on Jenny Lind Street has been charged by McKeesport police with firearms violations.

Davon Parms, 45, faces a preliminary hearing Monday before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr. in McKeesport on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, carrying a firearm without a license, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He is currently free on his own recognizance.

More than 30 people --- many from the Mon Valley --- were rounded up early Wednesday morning by FBI agents and local police and arrested on federal drug charges related to trafficking cocaine, heroin, crack cocaine and firearms.

Three Charged in Harrison Village Shooting Incident

Two people, including a 17-year-old, face charges after police say they opened fire on one another following a fight at the Harrison Village housing complex on Monday afternoon.

A third woman who is accused of giving a handgun to one of the shooters also faces charges, and Allegheny County police are looking for a fourth person who fled the scene.

A 22-year-old man whose name was not released was hospitalized with a leg wound, police said.

The shooting came 24 hours after Ciquann Dudley Jr., 17, of McKeesport was found shot dead in the 1300 block of Tube Works Alley, about two blocks away.
