High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. Above, Peyton Estochin, 6, of Christy Park helps McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko press the button to light the city's Christmas tree in Kennedy Park, Downtown, on Wednesday night.
Estochin, a student at Praise Christian Academy in North Versailles Twp., opened a sweet tea stand in her neighborhood in August and raised $700 to support the McKeesport police K-9 unit, which includes four canines and their handler/officers.
Estochin has hopes of being a police officer and K-9 handler some day.
