A 22-year-old man is reportedly in critical condition following a shooting Thursday afternoon on Palmgreen Street.

Allegheny County police are investigating but have released few details.

County police said McKeesport police and paramedics were dispatched to the 2700 block at 1:15 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

The victim, whose name was not released, was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma hospital for treatment.

Witnesses told police that the victim and another man were shooting at one another, said Lt. Andrew Schurman of the Allegheny County police homicide unit. The other man was described only as a white male wearing dark-colored clothing.

Schurman said no other description is available and police do not know in which direction the man fled.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
