A charity basketball game on Saturday at Penn State's Wunderley Gymnasium in McKeesport will raise money to support scholarships for Hispanic students in the Pittsburgh area.

The game is being co-hosted by Penn State Greater Allegheny Campus and the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It tips off at 2:30 p.m.

“We are so pleased to be teaming up with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for this event,” said Jacqueline Edmondson, chancellor and chief academic officer at Greater Allegheny. “The chamber has been a wonderful community partner and incredibly supportive of our students through their scholarship programs.”

Players are scheduled to include Joey Cora, third-base coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates; Gerald "Sky-Walker" Warrick of the Harlem Wizards; Roberto Clemente Jr.; members of the Steel City Yellow Jackets; members of the Penn State faculty; and many others.

Coaches will include Omar Moreno, former Pirates center fielder and member of the 1979 World Series championship team; Ace Pippens of the Steel City Yellow Jackets; and Frank Coonelly, president of the Pirates.

“Since 2011, PMAHCC has provided over $170,000 in scholarships to students," said Jesús Torres, treasurer of the chamber of commerce. “We cannot wait to see how many students we can help this year. We look forward to having everyone’s support at the event.”

Tickets to the event start at $10 for children and students and may be purchased at the chamber’s website.
