UPDATED with information from the medical examiner's office.

A McKeesport man was found dead in an garage on Versailles Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified the victim as 22-year-old Tareef Del Tae McClellan. McClellan died of a gunshot wound to the neck, the office said Sunday following an autopsy. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Allegheny County police Sgt. Venerando Costa said McKeesport paramedics were dispatched to a home in the 1500 block of Versailles at 3:37 p.m. for a woman who reported being unable to breathe.

When they arrived, Costa said in a statement, the woman told them she had found a dead body in her garage.

Paramedics investigated and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Costa said.

Police said McClellan did not live at the Versailles Avenue residence but was known by at least one of the people living there. Detectives from the county's homicide unit are investigating, but Costa said they have not yet determined a motive for McClellan's death and have not identified a suspect.

County homicide detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call (833) ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers may remain anonymous.

County police also may be reached via Twitter and Facebook.
