The West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E. Main St., will host a community open house from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17, a spokesperson said.

A full day of events is planned to showcase the many programs that the non-profit organization --- also known as the West Newton Senior Center --- has to offer for the West Newton area.

The schedule of activities includes:

8 to 9:30 a.m.: Coffee Club/Donut Day

9:30 to 10 a.m.: Bible study

10 to 11 a.m.: Decoupaging with Michelle Marker

11:15 a.m. to 12 noon: Bingo with Cyndi from Senior Life

12 noon to 12:30 p.m.: Lunch, orange-glazed pork loin (sign up required by Sept. 11)

12:30 to 4 p.m.: Learn to Play Cards & Win (participating vendors include Blackburn Center & Senior Life)

2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tai Chi with Sharif (informal Q&A meet and greet with Sharif from 3:30 to 4)

3 to 7 p.m.: Raffle Drawing (every 15 minutes; raffle tickets are $1 each; prizes include cash and/or raffle baskets)

4 to 5 p.m.: Finger Foods & Treats

5 to 6 p.m.: West Newton history with Daniel Roebuck (105th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, Company E, formerly known as the Sewickley Rifles)

6 to 7 p.m.: Free entertainment Featuring Cathi Rhodes (music from Patsy Cline) and Eric Harris (music from Johnny Cash); complimentary root beer floats from OSPTA
