Dravosburg and West Mifflin have posted schedules of upcoming holiday events.
West Mifflin will host the lighting of the borough's holiday tree on the lawn of the municipal building, 1020 Lebanon Road (near the Port Authority garage), at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday (Dec. 3), a spokesperson said.
There will be a ceremony and activities for kids, with refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus to follow at the nearby Skyview Volunteer Fire Department.
Dravosburg will hold its sixth-annual "Holly Jolly Christmas Celebration" at 6 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 5) at the municipal building, 226 Maple Ave., near the Mansfield Bridge.
Winners of the borough-wide children's coloring contest for ages 3 to 12 will be invited to light the Dravosburg holiday tree. From 6:15 to 7 p.m. kids can have their photos taken with Santa, and a magician will perform at 7.
There also will be facepainting, fingerprinting by McKeesport police, hot chocolate and cookies.
In addition, luminaria orders will be taken for Christmas eve.
