Three women have been charged after McKeesport police said a dispute early Saturday morning in the 2500 block of Stewart Street turned into a break-in.
Cherri Ann Barber, 30, of Munhall, and Shada D. Williams, 31, and Gabrielle M. Sinkler, 28, both of McKeesport, are each free on $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing March 9 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi.
Police said officers were dispatched late Friday night to the area of Stewart and Packer streets when callers to 9-1-1 reported several women were creating a disturbance. Officers left the neighborhood after not finding anyone at the scene, police said.
About an hour later, according to a report, neighbors called police again. Police said they arrived at a home in the 2500 block of Stewart Street to find three suspects getting into a car and attempting to leave the scene.
According to police, the resident of the home told officers that she has been fighting online with another woman over a male acquaintance.
Police said three women whom they identified as Barber, Sinkler and Williams came to the resident’s house and began pounding on the front door, asking the resident to come outside to fight.
When the resident would not come out, police said, the women kicked the door open, damaging the door frame.
Police said two of the women then entered the home and assaulted the resident, scratching her face and breaking her eyeglasses, until another occupant chased them away.
The women returned a short time later and tried to enter the home again, police said, but were unable to force entry before officers arrived.
Barber, Sinkler and Williams are charged by McKeesport police with burglary, simple assault, criminal mischief and criminal conspiracy. The victim did not require medical attention, police said.
