A McKees Rocks man is being held in the Allegheny County Jail after McKeesport police said he fired a shot into the floor of his girlfriend’s Dravosburg apartment and threatened to kill her.

Cody W. Pehm, 25, is charged with recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, simple assault and possession of a controlled substance following the incident Monday night.

Magisterial District Judge James A. Motznik ordered Pehm held without bond pending a preliminary hearing Dec. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Richard D. Olasz Jr.

McKeesport police said officers were dispatched to an apartment building on Fourth Street when callers reported hearing a man yelling that he wanted to die, followed by a gunshot.

Police said they entered the building and heard a man shout, “I have seven bullets, I will kill everyone in here.” Officers confronted the man, later identified as Pehm, and he surrended to police without incident.

Following an investigation, police said they believe that Pehm had been involved in an altercation at a local bar and arrived at the apartment intoxicated.

Police said Pehm and his girlfriend quarrelled, at which time police allege that he fired a single shot into the kitchen floor from a 9-mm pistol.

A small baggie of suspected cocaine was recovered from the pocket of Pehm’s trousers, police said, along with a fully loaded magazine of ammunition. Police said that Pehm’s girlfriend was referred to a victim’s rights organization for additional help.
