A McKeesport woman was found dead of a gunshot wound following a car crash in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood.

Pittsburgh police believe Katara L. Bray, 22, was targeted and that her shooting was not random, said Maurice Matthews II, assistant public information officer, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Police and paramedics were dispatched to the 4400 block of Davison Street just before 9 p.m. Monday when callers reported a vehicle had collided with a utility police, Pittsburgh police said.

When they arrived, they discovered the driver, later identified as Bray, unconscious. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
