A cabaret-like atmosphere will welcome guests to McKeesport Little Theater’s fundraising show, “All Together Now!” that runs for four performances on Friday, Nov. 12 through Sunday, Nov. 14.

With Edward Bostedo at the helm as director, the performances are part of Music Theatre International’s global event celebrating local theatre that weekend.

As is happening in theaters around the world, “All Together Now!” at MLT will feature songs from a variety of MTI’s extensive collection. They include “Newsies,” “Mama Mia!”, “Junie B. Jones, the Musical,” “James and the Giant Peach,” “Sister Act” and others.

“It’s a cabaret-style, very classy show,” Bostedo said. “There will be sheer curtains on the stage with lights, and dinner or lunch prior to the performances.”

Attendees will get to experience a dinner – or lunch – in McKeesport Little Theater’s upstairs reception area. Dinners for the Friday and Saturday evening performances include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, dessert, and beverages. Saturday and Sunday matinee lunches feature a choice of wedding or cheddar broccoli soup, salad, desserts, and beverages.

Ticket price of $25 includes the meal and show. Show-only tickets at $15 are available only through the box office. Advance dinner reservations are required no later than Wednesday, Nov. 10.

“I have worked with a few of these cast members before, and some are new to me and the theater,” Bostedo said. “Audiences will recognize returning faces of some (MLT) Juniors alumni, and one who performed many years ago and is returning.”

The director said the time crunch involved in trying to put together a show in such a short time, with only five weeks of rehearsals, led to his decision on the format.

“I gave them a list of songs from which to choose for their audition,” he said. Some are solo performances, while others involve the whole – or partial – cast.

“I’m most excited to have my cast enjoy themselves and excited for them to be back onstage,” Bostedo said.

He’s also looking forward to the audience being able to experience live theater again, especially with restrictions because of covid over the past two years.

Drew Cohen, MTI’s present and CEO, said “All Together Now!” is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew, and musicians.

“Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration, and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theatre,” he said.

Cast members are Abigail Weiss, Alex Stumpf, Amanda Anne Leight, Mandy Eckenrode Duxbury, Caitlin Kapoor, Dylan Stramaski, Isaac Richardson, Jonah Higdon, Kaitlyn Majewski, Kathleen Carney, Katie Beth Kirby, Laura Stumpf, Lydia Richardson and Maria Palmer.
