A man from Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood is being held in the Allegheny County Jail without bond on charges that he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl repeatedly over a period of several weeks in 2020.

Robert A. Clark, 41, was arrested by McKeesport police on Dec. 28 and faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 7 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi.

Court officials said bond was denied because Clark has failed to appear for past court dates on 14 separate occasions.

The alleged abuse happened at a home in McKeesport’s First Ward, according to a police report.

Police accused Clark of repeatedly forcing himself on the victim against her will. According to police report, the suspect is accused of initially contacting the victim on Facebook and promising her clothing, a cell phone and other gifts in exchange for sexual activity.

Clark allegedly warned the victim not to tell anyone about the messages he sent to her, police said.

McKeesport police investigated the case along with the FBI.

Clark is charged by city police with unlawful restraint of a minor, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor.
