A Penn Hills man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at a Dravosburg vape shop, and McKeesport police are searching for a second possible suspect.

Officers responded Tuesday night to the Richland Avenue business when callers to Allegheny County 9-1-1 reported a burglary was in progress. According to a police report, upon arriving at the scene, officers observed a man dressed in all black clothing in the alley behind the store.

Police said the man matched a description provided to 9-1-1 of one of the burglars. When the man could not adequately explain why he was in the vicinity, he was detained for questioning, police said.

Security camera footage obtained from inside the store showed two men enter the building by breaking the front window with a concrete block at about 10:30 p.m., police said. The video then shows the men ransacking the store, taking vape pens, vape fluids and jars of hemp flower, shoving the merchandise into satchels.

Police said an undetermined amount of cash also was reported stolen from the store.

The man detained at the scene was identified as Devaughn Northcutt-Washington, 23. Police said his distinct clothing matches that of one of the men shown on the surveillance video.

Northcutt-Washington is charged by McKeesport police with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and criminal conspiracy. He is free on recognizance bond pending a preliminary hearing April 21 before Magisterial District Judge Richard D. Olasz Jr.
