Vehicle Pursuit: A 17-year-old from Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood was arrested Monday after leading city police on a chase for more than nine miles through five Mon Valley communities.
McKeesport police said officers were attempting to stop a car that was driving at a high rate of speed on 9:56 p.m. Monday near the corner of Ninth and Market streets, Downtown. Instead of stopping, police said, the car fled.
Police followed the vehicle as it sped through McKeesport --- at one point, going the wrong way on a one-way street --- and continued over the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge onto state Route 837. Whitaker police joined the pursuit and finally stopped the vehicle in the 200 block of Vine Street in Munhall, McKeesport police said.
The driver, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was charged with reckless driving, driving without a license, fleeing and attempting to elude police, disorderly conduct and more than 10 traffic violations, police said. Police said they are investigating reports that the car may have been involved in a shooting incident earlier in the evening.
Assault Charge: Michael Queen Jr., 26, of Duquesne was charged May 23 by McKeesport police with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment in connection with a domestic incident May 22 on Evans Avenue.

Two Arrests: Rasheed C. Cash, 20, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of marijuana and driving under a suspended license after a traffic stop at 3:14 a.m. May 25 on East Fifth Avenue. One day earlier, McKeesport police said, Cash was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with a fight on May 10. A preliminary hearing on the May 10 incident is set for June 13 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr. in McKeesport; a hearing on the traffic stop is slated for July 11.
