UPDATED with additional details

A brutal week in McKeesport now includes four homicides.

Few details have yet been released about a fatal shooting Friday evening that claimed the life of an unidentified man. Allegheny County police said 9-1-1 dispatchers were notified of a shooting in the 1200 block of Park Street just before 6 p.m. Officers arrived to find an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified by the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office as Robert Moore, 58, of the city. He was pronounced dead at the emergency room of UPMC McKeesport hospital, the office said.

No further details are being released by police.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

The shooting is the sixth homicide in the city in 2023.

On Wednesday, three people died in two separate incidents. Just after 12 noon, 47-year-old Robert Joyner was shot outside of a store in the 3100 block of Versailles Avenue. Court records list addresses for Joyner in Pitcairn, Turtle Creek and Washington.

Joyner was pronounced dead at a hospital, the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said.

As police were canvassing the neighborhood following that incident, another shooting was reported in the Crawford Village housing development. Jerred M. Duncan, 22, of Turtle Creek was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, while another man, Jordan Eubanks, 30, of McKeesport was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, Uptown, with gunshot wounds and died about 90 minutes later.

There were four homicides in McKeesport in 2022, five in 2021 and six in 2020.

This week’s violence comes after a February marred by the murder of McKeesport police Officer Sean Sluganski, 32, on Feb. 6 and the slaying of Anthony L. Sayles, 59, on Jenny Lind Street on Feb. 17.

A city man is charged in connection with Sluganski’s murder and with wounding another police officer, Patrolman Chuck Thomas Jr., 35, during the same incident. No one has yet been charged in connection with Sayles’ death.
