Rankin and Allegheny County police are investigating a possible attempt by a man to lure a young girl into a car in that borough.

Police said the incident happened at 10 p.m. July 28 while the victim, who is 8 years old, was out with older family members. The girl told police that as she was walking toward a family member's home from Oak Alley to Fifth Street, she was approached by a silver sedan with tinted windows.

The car may have been a Cadillac --- or similar to a Cadillac --- and the license plate contained the letters "LX," the girl told police.

A passenger in the car, a black male who was bald with a mustache, grabbed her by the arm and attempted to drag her towards the car, county police said. The victim further stated that the male put his hand over her mouth, but that she was ultimately able to fight and get away, police said.

The victim was not injured. The actor is described as wearing a black puffy coat, black gloves, black dress pants and black dress shoes.

Anyone having similar reports or information related to this incident are asked to contact the Allegheny County Police Department at (412) 473-1251 or the Rankin Police Department at (412) 271-1010.
