Drug Charges: Alyssa M. Bazala, 25, of Jeannette was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering other persons after a traffic stop at 3:18 a.m. Oct. 6 in the 2500 block of East 5th Avenue. Charges were waived to court before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr. in McKeesport.

Firearm Charge: Lamaar A. McKamey, 19, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with receiving stolen property, possession of instruments of crime, tampering with evidence and carrying a firearm without a license following an arrest Oct. 10 near the corner of Dinsmore and Wilson streets. Police on a saturation patrol of the neighborhood said McKamey was carrying a .40-caliber handgun reported stolen from Freedom, Beaver County. He remains free on $5,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

Drug Charges: Mark A. Mattern, 50, of Pittsburgh was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, driving without a license and careless driving following a traffic stop at 7:50 p.m. Oct. 13 near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Arconia Street. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 19 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

Accident: Michael Giles, 30, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with causing an accident to an attended vehicle, driving with a suspended license, and making an improper left turn in connection with an incident that happened just after 11 p.m. Oct. 13. Police said that a driver was headed north on Hartman Street when a southbound car turned in front of her vehicle and struck it, then left the scene. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

Theft Charge: Ralph S. Cousineau, 42, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with theft by unlawful taking in connection with an incident on the afternoon of Oct. 16. Police said that a driver picked up a hitchhiker on Walnut Street in Christy Park. After a few blocks. police allege, the hitchhiker took her purse and left the car, fleeing on foot. Police said witnesses chased the suspect on foot and held him in the 3200 block of Walnut until officers arrived. Police identified the suspect as Cousineau. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

Assault Charges: Satara Hobdy, 28, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering other persons following a fight at a residence in the 1500 block of Scott Street early on the morning of Oct. 20. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

DUI Arrest: Daniel T. Howell, 45, of North Versailles Twp. was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence and driving without a license following a traffic stop Oct. 20 near the corner of Elm Street and Bowman Avenue. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

Drug Charges: Laura Stratemier, 31, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering for the purposes of prostitution after an arrest at 8:16 p.m. Oct. 24 in the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

DUI Arrest: Brenton W. Christopher, 39, of Belle Vernon was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and careless driving following a traffic stop Oct. 25 near the intersection of Hartman Street and East Fifth Avenue.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.

DUI Arrest: Donald L. Early, 57, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, making terroristic threats, careless driving and a moving violation following a traffic stop at 7:32 p.m. Oct. 25 in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 7 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr.
