Drug Charges: Two men were arrested and face drug charges after McKeesport police searched a car parked illegally in a handicapped space on Jenny Lind Street.

Lloyd Nelson Jr., 22, of West Mifflin and Irwin Beasley III, 28, of East Pittsburgh face a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. March 13 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi.

Police said that officers on a so-called "suppression" patrol looking for possible weapons violations on the evening of Jan. 20 saw an illegally parked car and stopped to speak to the driver and passenger. Police said that bags of suspected heroin, cocaine and marijuana were discovered on the passenger.

The driver, identified as Nelson, was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance, while the passenger, identified as Beasley, was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Robbery Charge: A McKeesport man faces formal arraignment March 27 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court related to an Aug. 15 robbery on Grandview Avenue.

Daryl Daniels, 46, is charged by city police with robbery and theft by unlawful taking. He was ordered held for court at a preliminary hearing Feb. 6 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi. Police accuse Daniels of approaching a woman whom he knew as she got off of a bus and forcibly taking her cell phone and $120 cash.


Robbery Charge: A McKeesport man is in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $20,000 after city police allege he robbed a teen-ager near McKeesport Area High School.

Savonce Williams, 19, is charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and carrying a firearm without a license. He was ordered held for court at a preliminary hearing Feb. 6 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi and faces formal arraignment March 27 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

Police allege Williams and another unidentified man approached the victim at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 27 and told the younger man that they would shoot him if he didn't give them his money and a cell phone. Police said the victim did as he was told and the other men left the area.


Gun and Drug Charges: A West Mifflin man faces firearms and narcotics charges after McKeesport police investigating a "shots fired" call stopped his vehicle and found 65 stamp bags of suspected heroin inside.

Terrill Weatherspoon, 42, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license.

Police said officers were on a saturation patrol of the Meadow Street area of the city early on the morning of Jan. 30 when they saw a car matching the description of a vehicle being sought in connection with recent reports of gunfire in the area.

Police said they stopped the car and found a .45-caliber pistol inside, along with the suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, 14 baggies containing suspected crack cocaine and three bags of suspected cocaine.

Police said they also found suspected methamphetamine, two cell phones and $630 in cash in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Weatherspoon.


Drug Charges: A Homestead-area man is being held in Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond after being ordered held for court on drug possession charges.

Rasheed J. Sanders, 33, is charged by McKeesport police with possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle charges. He faces formal arraignment April 3 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle on the evening of Feb. 4 for turning onto Sixth Avenue from Coursin Street without signalling. Police said that during a search of the driver, identified as Sanders, officers discovered three bags of suspected cocaine, as well as three cell phones and $601 in cash.


Burglary Charge: A Westmoreland County woman faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 27 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi on charges of burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

McKeesport police charged Danielle Dziaminski, 20, of Sutersville in connection with the break-in during the early morning hours of Nov. 5, 2016, at D & T Country Corral on Bowman Avenue.
