All Mon-Yough area military veterans are invited to attend a free briefing to learn more about what benefits --- including health care, home loans and housing --- may be available to them and their families.

The Veterans' Benefit Briefing will be held at 7 p.m. March 30 at the Thompson Run Athletic Association, 4901 Ball Ave., West Mifflin, and is being hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 914 Intrepid and the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania.

All veterans are encouraged to bring their DD Form 214 discharge papers and learn about what benefits may be available for themselves and their family members.

Topics to be presented include Veterans Administration health care benefits, VA pensions, burial and memorial benefits, housing, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Home Loan Guaranty Program. Two representatives from the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania will be on hand to answer questions, as well as the VFW Post 914 service officer.

Qualifying veterans who have been awarded a combat or campaign decoration will be offered membership into the VFW.  VFW Post 914 will pay the first year’s dues of each new member.

Veterans do not have to be from West Mifflin to attend this event.  For more information about VFW Post 914 and to register, contact Post 914 Commander Jake Bradich at (412) 464-9838.
