Versailles Volunteer Fire Co. has removed the department's chief after McKeesport police charged him with open lewdness and corrupting the morals of minors.
According to an Allegheny County court docket, Aaron "Buster" Powell, 46, was arrested by McKeesport police on Sunday night at McKees Point Marina with an underage girl.
McKeesport police were not immediately available for comment Monday afternoon.
The arrest was first reported by WTAE-TV (4) in Pittsburgh on their 12 p.m. news Monday. WTAE reported that Powell was found by McKeesport police engaged in sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl.
"As of this morning (the) fire chief who (was) accused of illegal actions was removed from office and is no longer affiliated with the department," Versailles VFC announced on its Facebook page, adding that First Assistant Chief Perry Gricar will take over until new officers are elected in 2018.
"In no way (do) the recent events reflect what the Versailles Fire Company and its members stand for," the fire department said.
Powell faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Nov. 20 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi in McKeesport.
