A 16-year-old from Turtle Creek died Monday night following a shooting in that borough, Allegheny County police said, and a 13-year-old was wounded.

Homicide detectives said the motive for the shooting is "not exceptionally clear" and did not release the identity of any suspect or suspects.

County police said the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of George Street. When Turtle Creek police arrived, they found the first victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

That victim, identified as Jerame Turner, was rushed to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville where he died of his injuries, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said Tuesday.

Shortly after the first 9-1-1 call about a shooting, a second call was received about another shooting victim about a half-mile away on Chestnut Street. Police and paramedics responded and found a 13-year-old boy who had a gunshot wound to the arm.

County homicide detectives said the second victim had run away from the George Street shooting. He was taken to the hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, homicide detectives said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County police tipline at 1 (833) ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
