Tube City Community Media Inc. is seeking freelance writers to help cover city council, news and feature stories in McKeesport, Duquesne, White Oak and the neighboring communities. High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. The Duquesne chapter of the anti-violence group Take Action Mon Valley will take to the streets on Saturday (May 23) beginning at 11 a.m. to survey community members, a spokeswoman said.
The surveys will help members of TAMV assess what the residents of Duquesne feel they need to combat community violence.
