A Mardi Gras "Paczki" Dance will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak.

"Come and enjoy some great polka music provided by the Versa J's in our Father Drap Hall," a spokeswoman said.

Paczki are deep-fried Polish pastries similar to jelly doughnuts, and in Polish communities, paczki are traditionally made just before Ash Wednesday as a means of using up sugar, eggs and butter as part of a pre-Lenten feast.

Tickets are $15 each and include a paczki, beer, mixers and soda. Food will be available for purchase. Guests may bring an alcohol beverage or other snacks.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call the church office at (412) 672-9641. Tickets are also available by clicking the donations tab at stangelamericiparish.org.
