The owner of a now-closed Versailles gun store was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for possession of illegal firearms, tampering with evidence and tampering with a witness.
Erik David Lowry, 38, of Versailles also faces a $30,000 fine and three years' probation, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said in a prepared statement.
The sentence was handed down in federal court in Pittsburgh by U.S. District Judge Arthur Schwab.
Lowry, who owned Pittsburgh Tactical Firearms on Walnut Street, pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2017. He also pleaded guilty on behalf of the company to illegally selling firearms.

Two people, including a teen-ager charged as an adult, face preliminary hearings next week on charges they shot at a security guard at a McKeesport apartment complex.
Dailan Smith, 26, of McKeesport and Jahi Rox, 17, of Duquesne are each charged by McKeesport police with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, making terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. Both also face additional charges.
They are being held in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bond.
McKeesport police said a security guard was on duty at Hi-View Gardens on Dec. 6 when a car slowly approached him from the 700 block of Sixth Avenue just before 9 p.m. Police said the car stopped and someone inside the vehicle yelled, "I'll smoke you (expletive)" and began shooting.

A North Versailles Twp. homeowner shot at intruders attempting to break into their home, Allegheny County police said Monday.
County police Lt. Richard Mullen said in a prepared statement that several people attempted to force open the door of a house in the 300 block of Foster Road at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The homeowner, whose name was not released by police, opened fire.

One man is dead following a shooting Saturday morning on Spring Street.
Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said emergency crews responded at 11:43 a.m. after callers reported a man was lying in the street and unresponsive just off of Jenny Lind Street.
The victim, identified as Mahlik Cash, 21, was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, Schurman said.
The killing is the 13th in McKeesport and the 29th in the Mon Valley so far this year, according to statistics from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.
Schurman said county homicide detectives are investigating. No further information has been released.

A former state representative from White Oak who pleaded guilty to his role in a video poker ring has been sentenced to 18 months of electronic monitoring.
Marc J. Gergely, 48, also was sentenced Monday to two years' probation after pleading guilty before Allegheny County Judge Ed Borkowski to violating state election laws and conspiracy to violate state gambling laws, court officials said.
Both charges are misdemeanors.

A 16-year-old from Turtle Creek died Monday night following a shooting in that borough, Allegheny County police said, and a 13-year-old was wounded.
Homicide detectives said the motive for the shooting is "not exceptionally clear" and did not release the identity of any suspect or suspects.
County police said the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the 400 block of George Street. When Turtle Creek police arrived, they found the first victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A Liberty Borough man was found dead under the Mansfield Bridge in Dravosburg on Sunday night, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office reports.
James P. McFadden, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:49 p.m., the office said in a statement.
Foul play is not suspected in McFadden's death, but the Allegheny County police are investigating, a spokeswoman said.

Two area men face drug charges after being arrested Wednesday morning at a motel in Plum.
Jamar Mosby, 44, of McKeesport, and Terrance Banks, 49, of East Pittsburgh, are charged by the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to deliver.
Mosby also is charged in connection with a rape in East Pittsburgh, court records indicate.
Mosby is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond, while Banks is jailed in lieu of $5,000. They face a hearing on the drug charges Dec. 6 before Magisterial District Judge Linda Zucco in Plum.

A Duquesne woman has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for her role in a heroin trafficking ring.
Brianna Timber, 23, was sentenced last week by U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer, said a spokeswoman for acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song.
Federal prosecutors said that Timber was recorded on federal Drug Enforcement Agency wiretaps conspiring with others to distribute heroin and launder the proceeds.
