A city resident is being held in the Allegheny County Jail after being arrested by sheriff's deputies for violating probation.

Breanne T. Jefferson, 29, formerly of Rankin, is being held without bond pending a hearing before Allegheny County Judge Edward Borkowski on an alleged probation violation, court documents indicate.

In a prepared statement, sheriff's deputies said Jefferson was first arrested by McKeesport police in 2014 in connection with several house burglaries in the city. She pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and received probation.

In 2016, city police again arrested Jefferson and charged her with assault, reckless endangement and endangering the welfare of children in connection with an October 2015 incident. She again pleaded guilty and received probation, according to court records.

A sheriff's office spokesman said that Jefferson is accused of violating her probation and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest. She was found in the Crawford Village housing complex Dec. 19 and arrested, the office said.

Also arrested on Dec. 19 by sheriff's deputies was the woman with whom Jefferson was staying, identified by the sheriff's office as Gina Wright, 35. A spokesman said Wright was wanted by police in Mahoning County, Ohio, in connection with alleged drug offenses. Wright was taken to Allegheny County Jail to await extradition to Ohio, the sheriff's office said.
