Volunteers will hold a "casino night" on March 2 to support operation of a dog park being constructed in Port Vue, a spokeswoman said.
"Wild, Wild Woof" will be held at the Glassport American Legion, 417 Monongahela Ave., said Holly Turkovic, one of the organizers. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door. The event will include card games, raffles, a silent auction, a buffet supper, beer, door prizes and music by "D.J. Dale."
Proceeds will benefit Cindy's Memorial Bark Park, which is nearing completion on 3.5 acres of land off of Portsmouth Drive in the borough.
The park is named for Cynthia McGraw-Davic, a pet lover and animal advocate who died Oct. 5, 2015, of small-cell lung cancer at age 46.
Organizers have so far raised $55,000 and need to raise another $5,000 before the park can open, Turkovic said.
Donors for the casino night are still needed, she said, and money, gift cards and other items are being solicited. All donations need to be received by Feb. 15.
Donations should be sent in care of "Cindy’s Memorial Bark Park" to Borough of Port Vue, 1191 Romine Ave., Port Vue, PA 15133. Checks for the dog park should be made out to Borough of Port Vue, with "Cindy's Memorial Bark Park" in the memo line.

Other committee members include Lisa, Ron, Kelsey and Chris Joseph, Carolyn McGraw, Lesley and Kayla Sylvander, Tony Turkovic, Gina and Richard Celovsky, Denise Fialkovich, Kelli and Kayla Komondor, Linda Lohr, Kerri Scheaffer and Lisa Terza.
