Tube City Community Media Inc. is seeking freelance writers to help cover city council, news and feature stories in McKeesport, Duquesne, White Oak and the neighboring communities. High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. West Mifflin Hosts Community Day Aug. 29

West Mifflin will hold its annual Community Day from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at Allegheny County Airport, a spokesperson said.
The event will feature live bands, entertainment, food, games, local businesses, community organizations and activities for all ages.
 
The entertainment schedule includes the West Mifflin Titan Marching Band at 12 noon, followed by performances by The Belairs, Premiere Cheer & Dance, Saaverda Martial Arts, the American Judo Hapkido Institute, Tres Lads and The North Star Kids.
In addition, at 2:05 p.m. borough Mayor Chris Kelly will present the "Business of the Year" and "Citizen of the Year" awards.
