Several local groups, including a new one calling itself "Citizens for Clean Air," will hold a meeting on Thursday to discuss recent air-quality issues related to the Dec. 24 fire at U.S. Steel's Clairton Plant.
The meeting is being held at 6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ, 508 Reed St., Clairton.
A spokesperson said that the meeting is being hosted by the Breathe Project, Clean Air Council, Clean Water Action, Group Against Smog and Pollution, PennEnvironment Research & Policy Center and PennFuture.
Elected officials also have been invited to the event to listen to residents’ concerns. The event is open to the general public.
