Free flu shots and health screenings will be available for older adults during a Senior Wellness and Safety Expo from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 26) at the Palisades ballroom, 100 Fifth Ave., State Sen. Jim Brewster announced.
“Hosting this event is an excellent opportunity to provide valuable information to our seniors,” Brewster said in a prepared release. “It is also an opportunity to provide them with beneficial health services and screenings.”
Health screenings for hearing, vision, blood pressure, bone density, carbon monoxide and blood glucose will be available.
In addition, seniors will also have the opportunity to receive a flu shot for free with no proof of insurance required.
State Rep. Austin Davis is also hosting the event in cooperation with Brewster.
“I look forward to seeing many of our senior citizens come out for this fun and informative event,” Brewster said.
