The West Newton Lions Club will hold a community Halloween parade Oct. 26, a spokesperson said.

Marchers should line up at 12:30 p.m. at West Newton Elementary School, 1208 Vine St. The parade will then begin at 1 p.m. with a police escort down Vine Street to the park, where participants will receive treats from members of the Lions Club.

In the event of rain, treats will be handed out in the gymnasium.

West Newton borough will then hold trick or treat following the parade until 5 p.m., the spokesperson said.

West Newton Mayor Mary Popovich said motorists are asked to drive with caution, and residents who want to hand out treats should put out some kind of welcoming device for trick-or-treaters.

For questions or more information, call Popovich at (724) 872-3537.
