Three people, including a juvenile, face charges in connection with a spree of robberies that ended in a chase and crash on Route 48 in Monroeville.

Robert Webb, 23, of Homestead and Deon Dutrieuille, 19, of Turtle Creek are each being held in Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing Feb. 10 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi in McKeesport.

Details of the charges against the third person, a 16-year-old male, were not released to the public.

McKeesport police were called to D's Food Mart on Union Avenue just before 6 p.m. Thursday when two suspects reportedly robbed the store at gunpoint, taking cash from the register as well as merchandise before fleeing in a silver Mercedes-Benz with a third individual.

The suspects were described as wearing all black clothing and black masks, police said. An eyewitness was able to get the license number of the car as it left.

While they were investigating, McKeesport police learned that the Crossroads convenience store in West Mifflin had been robbed at gun point less than an hour earlier by two men wearing the same clothing, who fled the scene in a silver Mercedes.

The same car had been observed just after 4 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Happy Mini-Mart in North Versailles Twp., McKeesport police said. The men inside the car put ski masks over their faces but never got out of the car and drove away, police said.

Police used traffic cameras to track the Mercedes to Route 48 in North Versailles, heading toward Monroeville, McKeesport police said. North Versailles and Monroeville police spotted the car just after 6 p.m. and attempted to stop it, but it fled in what police described as a "reckless manner" until the driver lost control and crashed on Mosside Boulevard, just before Haymaker Road.

The occupants fled the scene on foot but police apprehended Dutrieuille, Webb and the juvenile a short time later, police said.

Black ski masks and stolen merchandise from the robbery were found inside the car, police said, and details of the clothing the men were wearing matched witness descriptions.

Webb is charged by McKeesport police with three counts each of robbery and recklessly endangering other persons and two counts of theft by unlawful taking. Dutrieuille is charged with three counts of robbery and two counts of theft by unlawful taking.
