A Beaver County woman accused of luring a 15-year-old boy from northern Illinois last month was arrested Wednesday night at a home on Versailles Avenue in McKeesport.

Lilandra L. Redman, 20, of Rochester was arrested by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant from McHenry County, Ill., said Tony Griffith, spokesman for Sheriff William Mullen.

Police in Illinois allege that Redman met the teen-ager on social media and carried on a relationship for more than a year, at times using a disposable cell phone that she bought for him.

According to published reports, the teen-ager disappeared on Aug. 2, leaving a note for his parents that he had gone to “New York City” with a woman named “Jessica.”

Griffith said that in reality, Redman had traveled to the teen’s home in Woodstock, Ill., and taken him back to Pennsylvania. The teen-ager was located Aug. 3 at Redman’s home in Beaver County, Griffith said, but Redman could not be found.

Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies tracked Redman to a home in the 2900 block of Versailles Avenue, Griffith said. She was arrested without incident and taken to the Allegheny County Jail to await extradition, he said.

Redman is charged by Illinois prosecutors with child abduction, according to court records in McHenry County.
