More than a pound of marijuana and $6,000 in cash were confiscated by McKeesport police following a traffic stop Tuesday night on Park Street.

Now, three people face charges in the incident, which also netted prescription painkillers and muscle relaxants.

McKeesport police said city officers, along with the Allegheny County police department, noticed a strong odor of marijuana after pulling over a car driven by Michael A. Caudill, 22, of North Versailles Twp. for a traffic violation.

Caudill was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Colton J. Joseph, 20, of White Oak was charged with possession of prescription drugs with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, while Shon S. Staton, 26, of Park Street, McKeesport, was charged with loitering for the purpose of engaging in drug activity, police said.

Police said the pills recovered in the stop were suspected oxycodone and alprazolam, better known by its trade name, Xanax.

The three are being held pending a preliminary hearing, police said.
