High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. A theater group based in Monroeville is looking for volunteer actors to help present dramatic readings of plays to local nursing home residents and library patrons.
The Monroeville Readers’ Theater meets and rehearses from 7 to 9 p.m. the first Monday of each month in Yolanda’s Room at the Monroeville Public Library, a spokeswoman said.
There is no memorization, costumes, sets or props. Volunteers read from scripts. The group was formed in 2014.
