Cash, narcotics and a so-called “ghost gun” were seized Friday morning from a home in Duquesne, county police said.

The resident, Rashaad T. Fitzgerald, 29, is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond on charges of possession of controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver, endangering the welfare of children, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Allegheny County police said narcotics investigators have been tracking Fitzgerald for several months and obtained a search warrant for his home in the 900 block of State Street.

When police searched the home Friday, investigators said they found 1,650 stamped bags of suspected fentanyl, 10 additional grams of suspected fentanyl, $29,550 in cash and a fully loaded black 9-mm pistol, plus an extended magazine.

Police said the pistol was a so-called “ghost gun” assembled from parts obtained on the Internet, and was thus untraceable.

Duquesne and Allegheny County Housing Authority police assisted in the search, county police said.

Court records indicate that Fitzgerald was currently on probation after pleading guilty to possession of controlled substances and possession of marijuana in connection with a Jan. 24 incident in Duquesne.

A preliminary hearing on Friday’s charges is scheduled for Oct. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Scott H. Schricker.
