County Police Investigating Duquesne Shooting

Allegheny County police are investigating a disturbance in Duquesne that left a 30-year-old man dead and a 27-year-old woman wounded.
Police said Tyree Young, 30, of McKees Rocks died at a hospital following the incident, which occurred just after 8 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1000 block of Orchard Park Drive. Young was suffering from several gunshot wounds to the torso, police said.
The woman, who was not identified, was suffering from facial injuries, police said.
A county police spokesperson said city police and Allegheny County Housing Authority police responded to the disturbance call and found the victims.
Police said they believe the woman was assaulted by Young and fired the shots that wounded him. The woman was armed with a handgun and had a valid concealed-carry permit, police said.
She remained at the scene following the incident, police said, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Young also was armed with a handgun, police said.
As detectives continue to investigate, the facts of the case are being presented to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office for determination of culpability.
