High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. UPMC McKeesport, city officials and a consortium of local churches will team up to host their second-annual community day from 12 noon to 5 p.m. July 30 at McKeesport Area Senior High School.
A spokeswoman said the goal of this event is to connect with the community while promoting health awareness and healthier lifestyles through free health screenings, health education and access to local resources.
Partners include the Beckwith Institute, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Beulah Park United Methodist Church, Sister to Sister Outreach Ministries and Zion Baptist Church.
Activities will include entertainment from The Bill Henry Band and Etta Cox & Kevin Moore, food and refreshments, and a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for persons age 5 and older.
Information also will be provided about local employment opportunities. There also will be children’s activities, raffles and prize giveaways.
