Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 11th annual “Tour de Mon” bike ride on Sept. 24, a spokesman said.
Registration will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. at the pump house, located at the south entrance to the Waterfront, 880 E. Waterfront Drive, Munhall, said Maury Burgwin, chamber director.
Cyclists will then travel the Great Allegheny Passage before returning to the pump house for lunch and a concert by the Robinson Power Band.
The event is a pleasure ride, not a race. Riders have their choice of going a full 20 miles to Boston and back; 15 miles to McKeesport and back; 10 miles to Pittsburgh's Hot Metal Bridge and back, or eight miles to Duquesne and back.
Tour de Mon, presented by U.S. Steel, is a fundraiser for the Mon Yough Chamber Foundation, which supports educational activities in the chamber’s service area. Families, organizations and social groups are encouraged to participate, Burgwin said.
T-shirts will be available while supplies last to participants who register in advance.
To register, visit the chamber’s website, email Burgwin at director@monyoughchamber.com, or call (412) 678-2450.
