McKeesport Area High School orchestra and jazz band will perform this Thursday (Dec. 8) at the Allegheny County courthouse, a spokeswoman said.

The orchestra will perform at 12 noon and the jazz band at 12:50 p.m. on the Grand Staircase of the Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grant St., downtown Pittsburgh.

Concerts are free and open to the public, and are also broadcast on the Grant Street side of the courthouse so downtown shoppers and workers may enjoy the concert, county spokeswoman Amie Downs said.

The McKeesport area students are returning as part of Allegheny County’s 54th Annual Holiday Music Program. There will be 16 days of performances featuring more than 1,300 students representing 30 different student groups from schools across the county and region.

The first concert was held Dec. 1.

Other Mon-Yough area student groups scheduled to appear include the Steel Valley High School Concert Choir (12:50 p.m. Dec. 7) and the Gateway High School Orchestra and Jazz Band (12 noon and 12:50 p.m. Dec. 21).

The complete schedule is available at the county’s website.
