The Mifflin Twp. Historical Society will host a discussion of the Negro Baseball League, its presence in the Mon Valley and the work of the Josh Gibson Foundation at 7 p.m. on March 11.

The featured speaker will be Sean L. Gibson, executive director of the Foundation, a spokesman said.

Sean Gibson is a direct descendant of Josh Gibson, catcher for the Homestead Grays who was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972. The foundation named in his honor works to provide academic and athletic programs that foster leadership and scholarship.

The historical society is located at 4733 Greensprings Ave., near Kennywood Park, in the former West Mifflin police station. For more information, call (412) 205-3400.
