Penn State University's Greater Allegheny campus in McKeesport was closed for two days due to a broken pipe, a spokesperson said.

A sprinkler system malfunctioned in the campus' Frable Building. The resulting water damage disrupted communications and information systems on Monday and Tuesday.

The campus will be open at 8 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 25) and run on its normal schedule, the spokesperson said. All classes and activities will take place at their usual times and locations.

The Post-Gazette reported last week that according to plumbers, record-low subzero temperatures across the region had resulted in an extremely busy month for frozen and broken pipes.
