Did you love the Turnpike and the Laser Loop? Did you kiss your sweetheart while rowing a boat in the Lagoon? Did you march with your high school band in the Fall Fantasy Parade? Then McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center has a program for you.

Author and West Mifflin native Brian Butko will discuss his new book "Kennywood: Behind the Screams" at 2 p.m. Saturday (July 9) at the Heritage Center, located at 1832 Arboretum Drive in Renziehausen Park. The talk, part of the center's Summer Speaker Series, is free for members and $2 for all others.

The book is a pocket-sized guide to the history of Kennywood's attractions and is the first of a planned series of three books about the century-old West Mifflin landmark amusement park.

For more information, call (412) 678-1832 or visit the center's website.

In addition, Butko will be the guest on this Sunday's episode of "Two Rivers, 30 Minutes," heard on WEDO (810), WZUM (1550 and 88.1) and WMCK.FM Internet radio. The show is sponsored by McKeesport Hospital Foundation and new episodes are available as a free podcast from iTunes and our website.
