Accident, Arrest: A McKeesport man has been charged in connection with an accident that injured one of the passengers in the car he was driving. Rodney K. Webb Jr., 25, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault by driving under the influence of alcohol, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving and reckless driving.

Police said Webb was driving on East Fifth Avenue near the McKeesport-Duquesne Bridge at 3:18 a.m. April 17 when his car collided with a utility pole. There were five passengers in the car, police said, and one was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, for treatment of a facial injury, police said.

Charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and careless driving with withdrawn before a July 11 hearing before Magisterial District Judge Eugene F. Riazzi Jr. A formal arraignment on the other charges is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 1 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

Traffic Stop: A Turtle Creek man was ordered held for court after McKeesport police said he fled from a traffic stop. Tyrell Hampton, 21, was charged by McKeesport police with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving, careless driving and related traffic violations.

Police said that on 11:43 a.m. July 1, an officer was attempting to stop a car on Jefferson Street that went through a stop sign. The car fled. Police identified Hampton as the driver. Hampton was held for court following a preliminary hearing Monday before Magisterial District Judge Eugene Riazzi Jr. A formal arraignment is scheduled in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 9.

Drug Charges: Ian D. DePasquale, 26, of North Huntingdon Twp. was charged by McKeesport police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication after an incident at 3:21 p.m. July 3 at an East End store. Police said DePasquale had 27 stamp bags of suspected heroin in his possession.

Two men face charges in connection with a traffic stop early on the morning of July 6 in the 1000 block of Jenny Lind Street. Danyiel B.A. Francis, 23, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernlia, while Cody J. White, 25, of South Park was charged by McKeesport police with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Francis is currently being held in Allegheny County Jail pending formal arraignment at 10 a.m. Sept. 1 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, while White faces a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1 before Magisterial District Judge Eugene F. Riazzi Jr.

Evander P. Williams, 34, of Swissvale was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 10:57 p.m. July 11 at Crawford Village.

Ziare N. Rosser, 19, of Clairton was charged by McKeesport police with possession of heroin and possession of a small amount of marijuana after a stop July 17 in the 100 block of Lysle Boulevard.

Brian Swope, 42, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers responding to a domestic dispute at his residence at 12:13 p.m. July 17 discovered suspected marijuana plants.

Charles Wilson II, 39, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 11:40 a.m. July 12 at a residence on McCleary Street.

Autumn E. Darrall, 21, and Jacob T. Knoneberg, 25, both of Claysville, Washington County, were charged in connection with an incident at 3:03 p.m. July 17 near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Hazel Alley. Darrall was charged by McKeesport police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with physical evidence and recklessly endangering another person, while Knoneberg was charged by McKeesport police with recklessly endangering another person, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing the administration of law enforcement.

Shaquan S. Reid, 21, of Verona was charged by McKeesport police with possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop July 18 in the 500 block of Evans Avenue.

Myron G. Bynum, 19, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited offensive weapon after a stop on July 18 in the 1400 block of Patterson Avenue.

Dameon D. Demery, 34, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia after a stop at 10:20 p.m. July 18 in the 1200 block of Evans Avenue.

Retail Theft Charge: Duane L. Williams, 57, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with retail theft and defiant trespass after an incident at 4:51 p.m. July 1 at a store on Versailles Avenue.

Shooting: A Mt. Oliver woman is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on attempted homicide charges after McKeesport police said she shot at someone five times at point-blank range, but missed.

Nyesha Simmons, 28, is charged by McKeesport police with five counts of criminal attempt at homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering other people, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of a firearm by a person not permitted to have one. McKeesport police said that during an argument inside a store in the 300 block of Fifth Avenue at 12:20 p.m. July 5, Simmons pulled a .38-caliber revolver and fired five times. No injuries were reported by police.

A formal arraignment for Simmons is scheduled for Sept. 9 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.

DUI Arrests: Johnny Shogan, 19, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence after a traffic stop at 10:44 p.m. July 7 in the 800 block of Lysle Boulevard. A passenger in his car, Eric Harper, 19, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with possession of a controlled substance.

Carrie M. Shamber, 42, of Glassport was charged by McKeesport police with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving after a traffic stop at 5:24 p.m. July 15 near the corner of Lysle Boulevard and Locust Street.

Fleeing and Eluding Charge: A 16-year-old male was charged with a long list of charges after McKeesport police said he was seen driving a stolen car. McKeesport police said that on July 2, a car was reported stolen from Shields Street. Early on July 8, McKeesport police said, the same car was spotted near the intersection of Beech and Lee streets.

Police attempted to stop the car, but the driver fled. After a brief pursuit, the car collided with a tree near the corner of 13th Avenue and Locust Street, and the driver was taken into custody.

The teen-ager was charged by McKeesport police with resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding police, disorderly conduct, careless driving, reckless driving, speeding, driving without a license, and several related traffic violations.

Theft Charge: David M. Vaughan-Grybel, 24, of Duquesne was charged by McKeesport police July 9 with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Retail Theft Charge: Telly D. Stephens, 40, of West Mifflin was charged by McKeesport police with retail theft and giving false identification to law enforcement after an incident at 7:46 p.m. July 10 at a Downtown store.

Assault Charge: Brandon R. Readel, 34, of North Huntingdon Twp. was charged by McKeesport police with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person after an argument at a private residence at 11:15 a.m. July 14.

Threat Charge: Dearl J. Presley, 25, of McKeesport was charged by McKeesport police with making terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after a domestic dispute at 9:30 p.m. July 18.
