A 21-year-old man is wanted by Allegheny County police in connection with a triple shooting in Forward Twp. that left one man dead and two women hospitalized.
Joshua Wardlaw, who according to court records is out on bail while awaiting trial for drug arrests in Charleroi and Monessen, is charged by Allegheny County Police with criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Court records indicate that Wardlaw has addresses in McKeesport as well as Donora and Carroll Twp., Washington County.
Police said that just before 2 a.m. Saturday, a man drove into the parking lot of Saloon 136, on Route 136 just north of the junction with Route 906, and opened fire. Forward Twp. police responded and found three victims --- a 27-year-old man and two 27-year-old women --- at the scene.
The man was rushed to Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Twp., where he was pronounced dead, police said. Allegheny County police said the Washington County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy on the victim to determine his exact cause of death.
A story in the Washington Observer-Reporter by Scott Beveridge identified the deceased man as Johnathan Minnie, 27, of Belle Vernon.
The remaining two victims are in stable condition at local hospitals, police said. Police did not release the victims' names.
Anyone who may have been in the area of Saloon 136 early Saturday morning, or who may have information about Wardlaw's whereabouts, is asled to call the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit at (412) 473-1300, while anyone seeing Wardlaw is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
Wardlaw is known to frequent the mid-Mon Valley area, including Donora, Rostraver Twp. and Carroll Twp., police said.
Westmoreland County court records indicate that Wardlaw was charged by Monessen police in December 2015 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.
Court records indicate that he was free on bond but failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing in that case on June 29. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest by Westmoreland County Judge Rita Hathaway, according to court records.
According to Washington County court officials, Wardlaw is also awaiting trial there on charges of possession of drugs with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested by Charleroi Regional Police on May 7. Wardlaw was released from custody May 31 after posting 10 percent of $50,000 cash bond, court records indicate.
