Tube City Community Media Inc. is seeking freelance writers to help cover city council, news and feature stories in McKeesport, Duquesne, White Oak and the neighboring communities. High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. The White Oak Farmer's Market is up and running and will continue on 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through October, a spokesperson said.
Located at Heritage Hills Park next to White Oak Pool, the market offers locally grown fruits and vegetables, honey, ice cream, baked goods, fresh eggs, crafts and other items.
The market accepts WIC checks and senior citizens' farmer's market vouchers.
Heritage Hills Park is at 169 Victoria Drive, just off Carmella Drive and approximately a quarter-mile from Foster Road.
