Allegheny County police continue their investigation of a shooting incident Sunday night in Haler Heights that sent two men to local hospitals with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Details remain sketchy. The incident was reported at around 7 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Marshall Drive, emergency personnel said.

Neighbors have speculated that a party was in progress at a private home and that an argument began, but county police have declined to confirm any details.

Pennsylvania is one of a handful of states that exempts police reports from public open-records laws.

Allegheny County police spokesman Jim Madalinsky said the shooting happened outside of the residence.

“There is no threat to the public, and we believe everyone involved is accounted for at this time,” Madalinsky said. “Right now, no charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.”

Madalinsky did not confirm whether the two wounded men had shot at one another. Their names have not been released.

Both victims were in stable condition on Sunday night. Madalinsky did not say what their current condition is.

Anyone with information concerning this incident was asked to call the Allegheny County police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
