Allegheny County police homicide detectives and the medical examiner's office are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl at a home on Evans Avenue in the city.

However, officials said there were no signs of foul play or neglect.

A spokeswoman said in a prepared statement that McKeesport police and McKeesport Ambulance Rescue Service were dispatched at 7:20 a.m. Sunday to a house in the 500 block of Evans Avenue when a 9-1-1 caller reported the little girl was not moving or breathing. The child was pronounced dead at the scene by McKeesport paramedics, the spokeswoman said.

Homicide detectives were requested to assist and conducted several interviews. The investigation continues and cause and manner of death will be released pending an autopsy, the spokeswoman said.
