UPDATED: Police Seek Suspect in City Shooting

McKeesport police are looking for a suspect in connection with a shooting this morning Downtown.

City detectives said the incident in the 900 block of Fifth Avenue happened during domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Police said an argument between the 25-year-old female victim and her boyfriend turned physical and violent at about 5 a.m. and the two began to struggle with a handgun.

The victim told police the gun went off and she was shot in the shoulder. Her boyfriend then fled before emergency personnel arrived.

She was taken to the hospital and was referred to a victim's assistance program to deal with domestic violence.

Homestead police, FBI Seek Suspect in Robbery

Police and the FBI are looking for a man accused of robbing the First Commonwealth Bank in the Waterfront in Homestead.

An FBI spokesman said the robbery happened at around 11:50 a.m. this morning when a thin, white male, carrying a dark-colored, cube-like case, entered the bank and told a teller he had a bomb. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The man had light brown or "dirty blond" hair and a beard and was wearing business-casual clothes and sunglasses, the FBI said.

WM Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

West Mifflin police have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of the Huntington Bank on Route 51 near Century III Mall, a spokesman said.

William Eger, 51, was arrested Tuesday morning, said borough police Chief Ken Davies.

"The investigation of this incident was greatly enhanced by the cooperation of the media, the public and our own social media pages," Davies said. "With the tips received via tips lines we eventually were directed to the actor who then gave us incriminating statements of his involvement with the robbery."

The bank was robbed at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning by a man described as a white male, 5-feet-8, with a brown hair, beard and mustache. He was wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt, winter cap, jeans and tennis shoes, and fled the scene on foot toward Century III.

West Mifflin police and the FBI are investigating the incident.


WashCo Police Seek Suspect in Local Hit-and-Run

Police are asking for the public's help in locating the driver of a vehicle that rear-ended another car near Finleyville, then fled the scene.

Southwest Regional Police say Carla Abrasheff, 47, of South Park Twp. was on Route 88 in Union Twp., Washington County, when another driver rear-ended her Honda sedan. The other driver failed to stop, police said.

The other vehicle was described as an older model, black Lincoln with West Virginia plates. Police did not say if any injuries were reported.

In other news, police say a resident of Elrama reported that someone stole the license plate from their trailer while it was parked in the 4500 block of Finleyville-Elrama Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southwest Regional Police.


Clairton Police Remind Residents to Lock Cars

The Clairton Police Department is advising residents to keep car doors locked at all times.

"We have had a recent rash of items stolen from unlocked vehicles in several areas around the city," said Clairton police Sgt. Robert Ferry, acting police chief, in a statement.

Any residents who see suspicious activity around cars are asked to call 9-1-1, Ferry said.
